“You must not blame me if I do talk to the clouds.” -Henry David Thoreau
The last couple of months have involved one DIY organizing project after another, after another... and you guessed it - after another. Unpacking boxes only to pack them again for storage. Bringing them out of storage once they have a home and starting yet another DIY project. It's just a touch repetitive, a lot tedious but totally necessary for long term happiness. Fortunately, in between the moving and nesting insanity I've had these amazing Virginia skies. They feel utterly surreal... as if they are photoshopped and I am walking amidst a dream.
And I can't get enough of them.
I'm not sure what it is about here that seems so different than in North Carolina.. but the skies are often aglow. They are golden and intense throughout the mornings. They are warm and vibrant as the sun sets. Big puffy clouds intertwine with jet trails and the most incredible spectrum of blues and patterns are present.
And I just can't get enough of them.
The sun, the light and the breathtaking skies are like crack to me. I have lost hours gazing at them from my tiny patio. I find there is comfort in the fact that they are both constant and infinite. But mostly, I find myself oh-so-thankful for a fresh start in this new place that holds so much beauty for me to discover.
Blessed? Indeed I am.

if not intensified sky,
hurled through with birds
