"To market, to market, to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again, dancing a jig;
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog;
To market, to market, to buy a plum bun,
Home again, home again, market is done."
- Mother Goose
I find summer to be absolutely alluring.
Blue skies with puffy white clouds I'd love to plop on and simply just dangle my legs off of. The warmth of the sun on my face as I share lunch with a friend outdoors. Longer days, bike rides, treasure hunts, day trips, amusement parks, lush flowers in full bloom, a colorful array of vegetables, fruits and other delectable goods. Cool breezes, ice cream, art festivals, handmade wares, flea markets filled to the brim with vintage pieces that hold someone's untold stories.
Untold stories - largely a part of why I chose Market for this week's theme. Through your photos I am hoping to visit your towns, the small delights summer markets provide you and maybe even a glmipse into the thrifty finds you score. The images and perhaps the words that make up the fabric of your life.
Here are some scenes from the local farmer's market here in Raleigh. I'll do a follow-up post with scenes from our awesome flea market as well. So many photos, so little space!

What does the new prompt Market mean to you? Susan & I invite each of you to participate in the project and show us your unique vision, your voice, your echo.
Think Flea Market. Think Farmer's Market. Think Super Market. Think Open Air Markets. Think vegetable stands, italian bistros with scrumptious food to go, roadside fruit vendors, thrift store treasures, and the abundance of decadent offerings summer has. Stretch your imagination and find one of the numerous takes on the word 'market'.

Great photos. Of course, the sunflower is my favorite, but your treatment is just wonderful. Thanks
